During that time I’ve prepared thousands of tax returns and met many wonderful people. Some of them have fallen behind on filing their taxes. The reasons for this vary from unavoidable problems such as illness to very avoidable problems. The most common of these seems to be the Cleopatra syndrom. Or living in the state of denial. I cannot tell you how many people I’ve spoken to over the years who seem to just be hoping the problem will go away. The problem is they are more likely to go away than the problem. Go away to prison that is. Actually, it’s a very small number of non filers who go to jail. The IRS would much rather have their money.

That’s why I’m here. I’m not here to sell you my services. I do not want to prepare your back tax returns. I just want to encourage you to get those returns filed and start down the path of being a legal, tax paying citizen. The weight that will be lifted off your shoulders
will add years to your life. You know you secretly cringe every time you read a story about some tax evader or avoider getting caught. Rest assured that if you voluntarily approach the IRS you have a much easier time than if they have to track you down. In the
upcoming posts I intend to delve into some options you may have and answer any questions that may come up.
